Nikki first set up her label back in 2013 from her bedroom in Hampshire whilst working as a freelance print designer with studios and selling her designs commercially to the likes of ASOS, Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Made and Forever 21. Having won several textile design competitions and realising that she had a unique style in surface design, Nikki decided to set up her own accessories label. She steadily built up her brand, developing a strong product range that could successfully showcase her whimsical and ethereal print designs.
She now runs her label full time in a studio at Hackney Downs where she creates prints that aim to invoke a sense of freedom and escapism. Inspired by her love of nature and travel, Nikki creates her prints using watercolours, inks and splash of glitter. Everyday we deal with the unplanned and the unexpected - from a broken toaster to losing (or gaining) a major client. Our natural ability to improvise gets us through. But we feel as if we’re winging it, rather than acting with courage and conviction. Robert Poynton teaches an acclaimed method to some of the world’s biggest brands and companies. Improvisational skills that an actor might use on stage are honed and applied to the everyday business of work and life. The end result is a new approach that embraces change as a natural process and has creativity and innovation at its heart.
With killer games to put the theory into practice, Do Improvise will help you:
◦ Become more productive without trying harder
◦ Overcome creative blocks and generate new ideas
◦ Respond fluently to circumstances beyond your control
◦ Inspire and motivate others
