From the creators of Unknown Festival, Obonjan Island is all the things you love in one place, it's your perfect summer holiday - with a festival twist. Tucked amongst a cluster of Adriatic outcrops and bedecked with pine and olive trees, its been deserted for a decade and now Croatia’s Obonjan island is set to offer a summer-long creativity and wellness break with an added music festival twist.

Imagine crystal blue waters and star-filled skies. Amazing music and wondrous experiences. Jump in the pool, snooze beneath the pines or pop your Yoga cherry. Obonjan Island is the place to be this Summer - stay for a week, stay for the whole summer: its open 28th July - 6th September 2016.

Morning Pages are three pages of longhand stream of consciousness writing – i.e. fill three sides of paper with words, stream of consciousness-style, first thing every day when you wake. "There is no wrong way to do Morning Pages – they are not high art. They are not even 'writing'. They are about anything and everything that crosses your mind– and they are for your eyes only.”

Not sure? I wasn’t either – until I tried it out, even after my streams of what I thought was nonsense I felt calmer and clearer. “Morning Pages provoke, clarify, comfort, cajole, prioritise and synchronize the day at hand. Do not over-think Morning Pages: just put three pages of anything on the page… and then do three more pages tomorrow.”

As the Guardian explains: you can write about whatever's on your mind: petty worries, soaring plans, angry tirades. However, the pages must be done first thing: "You're trying to catch yourself before your ego's defences are in place." They must be longhand. And you must fill exactly three sides of A4 paper. That three-sides rule is key: on an uninspired day, you might start writing banalities, but if you keep going, having dusted the cobwebs away, you might find breakthroughs occur. "It turns out you can't really write about nothing for three whole pages," Joanna says. Equally, after three pages, you must stop, to avoid "self-involvement and narcissism". Brain-sweep complete, it's time to get on with the day.

I looked to practice morning pages every morning for a couple weeks. Now I call on it with ease when I need it, and it’s a tool I have stowed away and always find helpful.

Give it a try!

Emily Alice has been making jewellery for almost 15 years and studied her craft at university in Sheffield. Her work is simply inspired by a topic she loves and is fascinated by. At school, the careers officer asked her what she would like to do, she replied “something to do with art and biology”.

She choose the creative route and now often combines her interest of biology with her training as a silversmith and jeweller. She is specifically interested in hormones and how they affect us. As you browse her shop you will see a common theme, Molecules. Inspired by the molecular structure, atomic weight and make up of each element, Emily Alice’s designs are not only stunning but innovative and unique paired with wonderful meaning and inspiration.
